Location
On arrival at Chillifields the first thing that strikes you is the tranquility of the place, surrounded by lush green lawn and colorful flowers. It is nestled on a hillside on a 10-acre farm overlooking the beautiful Assagay Valley. The farm is home to a myriad of bird species, so bring along your binoculars and you could well be rewarded with sightings of Long-crested Eagles, Egyptian geese and Purple Tauraco's to name a few. Chillifields is conveniently situated midway between Pietermaritzburg and Durban, making it the ideal place from which to explore the Midlands Meander, Valley of 1000 Hills or the Durban Beaches and Ushaka Marine World. We are ideally situated 5 minutes from the center of the rapidly growing Hillcrest, with its first class restaurants and shopping Centers and are in close proximity to the Shongweni Polo grounds, hosts to an international polo match every August.

Accommodation
Chillifields B&B has three well appointed suites complete with en-suite bathrooms. Suites can be made up with either Double or Twin beds. Two suites have showers en-suite while one suite has a bath en-suite. Each room has a small lounge area with TV and Radio. Rooms are equipped with remote controlled fans and heaters.

Each room has a kitchenette suitable for basic self catering, complete with bar fridge, microwave, toaster, cutlery & crockery as well as coffee and tea making facilities. We offer a full English and continental breakfast. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the dining room or alfresco on the wide veranda overlooking the valley.

There are numerous excellent restaurants in the vicinity and we would be more than happy to recommend something suitable for your evening meal.

Chillifields is strictly a non-smoking establishment. Guests are however welcome to smoke on the wide, sheltered verandah.

Occupation is from 2.00 pm on the day of arrival and guests are requested to vacate their room by 10.00 am on day of departure.
