Hilton Manor Guesthouse is situated in the rapidly developing town of Ermelo in Mpumalanga. Set in the quiet and idyllic suburb of John Vorster Park, the guesthouse is conveniently close to most amenities like shopping centers, restaurants, banks, hospitals, etc. and only a stones throw away from Ermelo High School.

The owner, Rina Fourie, recently acquired the property and developed it into this beautiful guesthouse. Rina has gone to great lengths to achieve the level of style and comfort that Hilton Manor offers its guests. Each room is uniquely decorated with extreme attention to detail. From the electric blankets and luxurious percale linen that ensures guests sleep like Kings and Queens, to the chocolates placed on freshly laundered towels, no detail is to large or small to go un-noticed. The lounge and dining room are richly decorated and offer a warm and cozy atmosphere in which to enjoy conversation and meals. Guests can also enjoy the beautiful and tranquil garden boasting an enchanting dome, relaxing water feature, swing and lapa which set the scene for total relaxation.

The vision that Rina has for Hilton Manor is to provide its guests with a memorable experience that keeps them coming back for more.

Things To Do
Legoya Huts: (Corbel huts built during the Stone Age). Largest settlement of it's kind. Declared a National Monument in 1986. Important Heritage Site. Open Air Museum. 10km on Ermelo/Davel Road. Major tourist attraction.

Sandstone Church & 72 de Jager St: Visit the NG Modergemeente Church building and the only house left standing after the British forces adopted the 'scorched earth policy' during the Anglo Boer-War. Declared a National monument.

President Paul Kruger Pan & Statue: The mysterious lake on the southern side of Ermelo where a portion of the legendary "Kruger Millions" were alledgedly discovered and the statue of the former President Paul Kruger discovered nearby.

Fossilized Giant Snake: Fossilized remains of a giant snake 51m long, possibly dating from the Devonian period (500 million years ago). 42km on the De Emigratie Road. By appointment only.

British Camp Site: (During the Anglo-Boer War). This was strategically placed on Tafelkop Hill. Excellent viewpoint of the entire town and surrounding area. Entrance 2km on the Breyten Road.

Spirit of the Swazi Nation: Site of mass death of Swazi Impi from exposure during a severe snowstorm approximately 240 years ago. 11km from Ermelo on the Chrissiesmeer road.

Begin der Lijn Bridge: (National monument). A sandstone bridge of significance, dating from the previous century and officially opened on 12 April 1898.

Eye of the Vaal: (Origin of the Vaal River at Breyten). This small spring is neatly damned with a bridge and walkway. Situated on the outskirts of Breyten.

The historic town of Chrissiesmeer: Visit this hamlet where time seems to have stood still. See the historic buildings built over 160 years ago. (This is classed as a prime tourist attraction).

Battlefield at Chrissiesmeer: This key Anglo-Boerbattlefield in the quaint town of Chrissiesmeer and the cemetery where both the British and boer casualties are buried side by side. Enquire about the yearly reenactment of the Battle at Chrissiesmeer.

Goliaths Footprint: (Heritage site). Locals call this natural feature the footprint of God or Adam's footprint. This giant footprint, prefectly formed in ancient granite rock, has many myths and mysteries surrounding it's formation. Day permits or guided tours available.

Bushmen paintings: (Predominantly in the Chrissiesmeer area). Investigate the boulder caves where 'Lake Bushmen' painted hunting scenes. Visit the La Rochelle cave to view the many & varied forms of ancient Bushment Art.

Artists & Crafters Boulevard: Across from the Grass & Wetlands Tourism Info Centre in Kerk Street, Ermelo.
